IPAF Harness Training
Course Overview

Our IPAF Harness Training Course covers a number of aspects in the safe use of harnesses and lanyards. This course is designed to give trainees the knowledge and understanding of ensuring users safety and protection and covers fitting of a harness, pre use checks and storage of harnesses. This course also provides trainee's instruction on to how to correct wear PPE correctly to ensure it does not cause the user injury in the event of an accident.

Trainees can include harness training as part of our IPAF MEWPs Training Course if required.

Course Objective

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Outline main Irish working at height legislation.
Describe working conditions where fall protection is required.
Fit and remove a full body harness.
Inspect personal fall arrest system before and after use.
Inspect Ladders before and after use.

Course Requirements

In order to partake in this course, participants must meet the following requirements:
Must have their own harness and lanyard for the course.
Must be over the age of 16 years.
Have a good level of English.

Course Content

Introduction
Working at height legislation
Working at height hazard management
Personal Fall Arrest System
How to fit and remove full body harness
Use of ladders
Inspect of ladders

Theory & Practical Assessment

Course Certification

On successful completion, participants will be awarded with a IPAF Certificate of Training which is valid for 5 years.
